Many companies boast of a set of values that determines how they run their business but in reality, these values are nothing more than feel-good blather and a poor attempt at creating a positive image.
The alignment of a company’s vision and values with its strategies, policies and management controls is the foundation of high performance. Organizations without this alignment will create friction between management’s desires and the actions of the employees, and thereby, causing inefficiency.
Think of your moral vision as a statement of what you aspire for your company to be and its values as the yardstick for its behavior. Alignment will occur when all employees are involved in the formulation of vision and values. Together the employees and the management will develop a joint strategy that will help uncover more opportunities to serve clients and customers better.
