Mentoring is a fundamental form of human development where one person invests time, energy, and personal know-how assisting the growth and ability of another person. Mentors are the special people in our lives who, through their deeds and work, help us to move towards fulfilling that potential.
Mentors are helpers. Their styles may range from that of a persistent encourage who helps someone build self-confidence to that of a stern taskmaster who teaches a student to appreciate excellence in performance. Whatever teaching style they implement, they care about their mentees and what they are trying to achieve.
Traditionally, mentoring was a formal process whereby an older, more experienced person helped and guided a younger person in learning the ropes within an organization. Mentoring described the activities of a senior person preparing a junior for a particular office or job, providing career guidance, and encouraging high performance standard.
Mentors also were senior people in an organization who took talented people under their wing and protected, taught and even sponsored these protégés. However, in recent years this sponsoring role has been criticized for leading to favoritism, career climbing, and internal politics. Leading to a more neutral and fair mentoring system where everyone is on an equal stepping.

My next door neighbour was complaining that he constantly felt a draft enter his home even though all doors and windows were closed. I advised him to have a professional come and install spray foam insulation to prevent the cold seeping in. My neighbour is a DIY kind of person and insisted on doing the job on his own. The result was catastrophic, the foam was uneven and he even got some foam on his floor and furniture. Needless to say, his wife was furious.
Spraying foam insulation is not a do-it-yourself application and should be done only by properly trained installers who will assure quality control. Here are several reasons why you should hire a professional to do you spray insulation:
· When foam is sprayed, it expands to a great volume as soon as it is applied. If it is not sprayed correctly, the process can become wasteful and pricey.
· A professional company will ensure both the safety and quality of any spray foam application.
· Sporadic spraying results in unbalanced layers that are not aesthetically pleasing.
· Uneven spraying will accumulate in clusters that can be a fire hazard.
· Exothermic heat is created from the chemical reactions that occur while the foam is expanding. If the layers are too thick, this can also present a fire hazard.
· When the job is poorly done, there could be an added labor cost to remove the thick layers and clusters of foam.
· In some cases, the entire job is removed and re-administered, resulting in wasted labor and materials.
